NO GLUTEN FREE WAFFLES!!!!!!

OK, so Jillian and I make special plans to go to this new place that opened up on Sunset called "The Waffle". We were both extremely excited about trying their "Gluten-Free" Waffles.
So, we get there yesterday around 1:30 and after they tell us that the kitchen might be slow, we take our seats. We don't mind....we're going to get gluten free waffles, we'll wait all day!!!!
Our waitress comes over to take our order....here it comes....."oh we're out of gluten free waffles"....what? After we look over the menu again, we each decide on something. Jillian gives her order and also orders a "non-dairy" chocolate shake (another one of their specialities)....ummmm....."we're out of soy milk and the stuff to make the non-dairy shakes". WHAT?
So, Jillian orders a Dr. Pepper.....wait....here it comes...."we're out of Dr. Pepper". WHAT?
At this point it's pure comedy. Needless to say we did finally get our order of one of their burgers (no bun) and I had a "griddled" cheese sandwich with their "waffled" fries and a side of their sausage gravy. It was good, but didn't satisfy our "waffle" craving! Maybe next time. They have only been open one week, so we'll give them another try!

Oh, and Jillian thinks she saw Matthew McConaughey come down from the upstairs seating area....I missed it!

The trials and tribulations of a pregnant woman and her girlfriend! Stay tuned! We'll keep you posted!

Happy Monday!

Wow! What a weekend! It was a quick trip to Texas (my home state) for a wonderful weekend full of celebrations! We had a great time with family and friends celebrating my sister-in-law (Glenda's) 50th birthday on Saturday evening, and then my brother (Byron Von) and sister-in-law (Glenda) threw us the most fabulous baby shower on Sunday! The theme for the shower was "once upon a time" and it was held at the same place that we had our wedding reception, which was so beautiful. Needless to say, we were both tired from the plane rides on Friday and Sunday and all the festivities in between. Oh, and if you heard the show this morning...you heard the Saturday night "i'm sleeping on the couch" drama! It was actually quite funny, and I loved having the bed to myself! :)
A huge thank you to everyone in Texas for such a wonderful weekend. Love Y'all!

Ummmm......

OK, I think we have a "coffee fairy" in our home! For the past few days this "coffee fairy" has been leaving a nice little coffee drip trail from our kitchen to our laundry room and out to the garage. It has to be a "coffee fairy", because my wonderful husband wouldn't keep leaving a coffee trail for 4 days in a row now! I hope that the "coffee fairy" doesn't visit your home or office, it's getting a little annoying!

Hello

OK, so it's Sunday night and we are enjoying being at home after spending most of the weekend at our CHILDBIRTH Classes! I am so glad that we took these classes. They were so informative and will be helpful when it is our time to have our baby! All of the couples in our class were so nice and one couple went into labor this morning shortly after we started class! Her water broke at around 9:45 AM, and she stayed at the class until about 11. The hospital was right across the street, so it was perfect timing! Also, it turns out that they have the same O.B. as we do! I hope that everything went perfect for them and they had a healthy happy baby!
Like I said, we learned so much and I feel so much more prepared.
One neat little tid bit of information was a website called: http://www.contractionmaster.com
It's a website that keeps track of your contractions for you!
There were a lot of interesting stories brought up during our classes, but you will have to tune in to my hubby to hear them! Whoa! Crazy pregnancy stories!

Have a Happy President's Day!

What a day!

Good afternoon!

We had our 32 week check up today with our 4-D Specialist! It was so amazing! Our baby boy is doing wonderfully. Everything is perfect, and he already has hair!
I knew that he would take after his mommy. I looked like a little monkey when I was born. He weighs 3lbs, 13oz.
I hope these next 8 weeks go fast, I can't wait to meet him.

I have to go and make my Valentine's day goodies for everyone at the station! I love giving goodies for all the major holidays, just a little something to make people smile!

I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!
We will be celebrating by attending our baby care basics class! Which reminds me, I better start working on our homework assignment that they gave us last week.

Leilani

yum!

Good evening!

I just had the yummiest dinner. It sounds kind of weird, but I made turkey chili and turkey hot dogs! I wasn't craving it, but once I started eating it, it was delicious!
My loving husband is watching his "sarah connor chronicles" on Tivo. I don't really like that show, so I'm catching up on all of my magazines that arrived during the weekend.
We have our 32 week check up with our 4-D specialist in the morning. I can't wait! I will let you know how it goes.
Night, Night!

Welcome to my Blog!

Good Morning!

It's Monday and I think I have recovered from the most fabulous baby shower ever!
Our dear friends, Dr. Greg & Dana Brooks along with their children, Matthew & Carli threw us a baby shower on Saturday night at Oakmont Country Club.
We had the best time. It was so much fun to have so many of our friends in one room to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our little boy.
The evening was so lovely. Let's see, everyone but me and a couple of my other pregnant girlfriends enjoyed champagne, wine, and cocktails. Then we enjoyed a delicious four course dinner, and lots of fun gift opening and story telling! The room was decorated with our nursery colors and design, and it was absolutely gorgeous! It was a perfect evening, and we will cherish always the memories that we made with so many of our friends!
By the way, wasn't the weather this weekend amazing! That's why we live in southern california!
Have a happy Monday!

Cheerfully,
Leilani
